Was englisches zur Weihnachtszeit

  • It happened a long time ago:

Father Christmas was having a really bad day.
It was Chrismal Eve and 4 elves were sick, 2 on maternity leave and the
trainee elves were just not producing enough toys, so everything was short.
Then Mrs. Chrismas (aka. 'Mary Chrismas') announced that her mom was
    staying over Chrismas.
When Father Chrismas went into the stables to harness the reindeer he
found two of them giving birth and 2 gone over the fence and not to be
    found anywhere.
Sighing he went to pack his sleigh..... and cracked a board on the
sleigh, dropping a bag of toys and scattering the content all over the snow.
"That's it!", he moaned and went back into the house to get himself a
mug of hot cider with a shot of rum.
He got even crosser when he discovered that the elves had hidden the
liquor. Then the mug with cider slipped fom his grip and bust into a
million pices on the floor. The last straw was when Father Chrismas
discovered that mice had eaten the broom when he wanted to mopp up the mess.

    Then the doorbell rang.
A small glittering angel with an enormous Chrismastree stood on the
    doorstep similing:
"Wll, istn't this a wonderfull day?!? I have brought your christmas
tree. Where do you want me to 'stick it'?"

And that's how the tradition of the little angel on top of the chrismas
    tree started.
